The Ottawa-Bangladesh Muslim Funeral & Social Welfare Organization (OBMFO) is dedicated to providing comprehensive funeral services, social welfare support, and community assistance to Muslim families in the Ottawa region. We strive to uphold Islamic principles while offering compassionate care during times of need, and to strengthen our community through charitable programs and social services.
Our Story
Founded in 2009, OBMFO was established by members of the Ottawa-Bangladesh Muslim community who recognized the need for culturally sensitive funeral services and comprehensive social welfare support. What began as a small volunteer effort has grown into a vital community organization serving thousands of families across the Ottawa region.
Over the past 15+ years, we have provided dignified funeral services, facilitated proper Islamic burials, offered financial assistance to families in need, and created programs that strengthen the bonds within our community. Our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that no family faces difficult times alone.
Today, OBMFO stands as a pillar of support for the Muslim community in Ottawa, providing not only funeral services but also social welfare programs, community events, educational initiatives, and emergency assistance. We continue to grow and adapt to meet the evolving needs of our community while staying true to our Islamic values and commitment to service.
